so ashli has been riding a lot this year.  she rides her mtb on the country rodes where we live.

this past sundays ride she blasted a chain...put a kink in it.  

a month ago she did the same thing...put a kink in a chain.

hmmmmmm...do i get a new chain or should i just take out the kinked section and do a "boyle" and put on a powerlink?

i've still got that chain we won from last years 12 hour race...

i think i'm gonna do a boyle since i pack the new chain with me on rides...damn...i feel like an east side rider...wait, i do ride the east side!

time to get a 4+ hour ride in i think!

Is it now when Colin chimes in and tells you that it is NOT a kink and gives it some other crazy definition?

I still have the new chain from last years 12 hour race too.  If you were repairing it for you, I would do a Boyle.  Since it is for your wife, I would put the new chain on there for her.  You don't want her to get stranded on a country road all by herself because you cheaped out and pieced together a chain for her
